Behind the Scenes: Medieval Art in Videogames

From the very beginning, our goal with Legends of the Round Table was to create something truly unlike any other game. One presented the way medieval art actually looked: hand-painted, colorful and rich with symbolism.
The response to the game's presentation has been incredible, and we couldn't be more excited to finally lift the veil. Today, we're sharing a behind-the-scenes look at how we bring true medieval art to life for Legends of the Round Table.
Also, we recently stumbled on an incredible boardgame named Siege Perilous. Just like Legends of the Round Table, this game is oozing with love and authenticity.
Every element of the game – every character you meet, treasure you claim, weapon, follower, mount or animal companion you acquire – has been hand-painted using traditional mediaeval techniques, pigments, and gold leaf by renowned artist Jay Johnstone – more than 250 original paintings in all, each of which conveys additional lore in its details.
