Hello everyone!
If you've tried the Legends of the Round Table demo recently, you may have noticed a mysterious illumination during loading screens: the Wheel of Seasons!

But this wheel isn’t just there to keep you company for a few seconds while your adventure loads. It represents an entire symbolic cycle, imagined by our team (especially Yan, our CEO and a passionate reader of medieval texts) and beautifully illustrated by our illuminator, Pierre. It’s designed to capture the passage of time, the changing seasons… and the key stages in a knight’s life.
🌹 Spring: Love
Spring symbolizes youth. It’s the season of first loves, of poetry, of blossoming emotions. In the world of Legends of the Round Table, love is a foundational virtue, without it, the others lose their meaning. This vision draws inspiration from courtly literature, where the lady becomes the knight’s muse, infusing his bravery with a new and deeper strength.
☀️ Summer: Prowess
When summer arrives, the knight is at the peak of his abilities. He heads into battle (thanks to the more favorable weather), shines in tournaments, and strives to make a name for himself. It’s the season of prowess, action, and strength. Through his feats, the knight hopes to one day become a great lord... and, with any luck, earn a marriage of high rank.
🍂 Autumn: Largesse
Autumn is a season of abundance: the harvest is celebrated, the hunt is on, and wine and bread are shared. It’s a time for generosity. The knight hosts banquets, gives to his loved ones, and supports the needy. His nobility is shown through his acts of giving.
❄️ Winter: Loyalty
Finally, winter arrives (something we know all too well here in Quebec). The knight withdraws, meditates, advises his lord, and passes on his vision and values. It’s a season of reflection, loyalty, and returning to what truly matters. He trains the younger generation and becomes a guide.
It’s the end of one cycle… and the beginning of another.
This concept of the wheel doesn’t actually appear in medieval manuscripts (even from the 13th century), but it’s based on historical reflections that have influenced our game (especially the work of Georges Duby) and on our team’s strong desire to link gameplay, aesthetics, and symbolism.
Originally, we aimed to represent the four chivalric virtues present in Legends of the Round Table. Gradually, this cycle took shape on its own.
Today, the Wheel of the Seasons encapsulates our vision for the game: a world where every action, every decision, is part of a larger cycle, one built on courage, sharing, and humanity.
We hope this newsletter has given you a new perspective on each of your upcoming loading screens. And if you haven’t yet, the demo is available on Steam!
